Rehabilitation
The aim of Rehabilitation is to re-establish all or
a portion of the patient's physical, mental and sensory abilities which were
lost during a disease, injury, or illness. Rehabilitation includes assisting
the patient to recompense for the deficiency which cannot be reversed
medically. It is prescribed mostly for many types of injury, disease or
illness, amputations, arthritis, orthopedic injuries, cancer, cardiac disease,
stroke, spinal cord, neurological problems, and traumatic brain injuries.
Rehabilitation helps to minimize or slow down the
disabling effects of chronic health conditions, such as cardiovascular disease,
cancer and diabetes by equipping people with self-management strategies and the
assistive products they require, or by addressing pain or other complications
